Off to do the grocery shopping
Today for financial literacy we set up mini businesses. The businesses had to learn about price lists, a float, working out the correct change and much more was involved. The longer the lines got the more money they would earn, the more produce would be sold and the more stressed the business owners got as they wanted to be able to cater the needs of their customers and keep them happy.

A weak moment...
Room 3,
I get emotional when I think about the fact that this is our last term together.
You are all such amazing, clever, young individuals which I enjoy spending everyday with!
I am so proud of each and everyone of you and your outstanding growth and achievements this year.

Synonyms
Once a week to begin our literacy session we look at a word (a boring word we call it) and come up with as many words as we can which mean the same (a synonym). We place all our words into our McDonalds wall and we can go to this wall whenever we want to use a more sparkly, interesting word in our writing.

Rocks Rock
Today, we were being scientists and were examining the rocks which we have been gathering over the past week. We drew up tables in our inquiry books and went round the classroom with handheld microscopes to examine the characterstics of each rock.
It was so fascinating!

What would you write...
For our warm up today, Mrs Hanson put an image up on the interactive whiteboard. It was an image of Mrs Hanson, when in Queenstown, wearing a massive backpack which was the size of her. We had to speed writing for 10 minutes about this image. It was interesting listening to one another's stories and how different they all were.
Dean Mckerras at LEEP
In Dance Works today, we had Dean Mckerras from School of Dance come and teach us a few dance routines. He also helped us critique our already made pieces by starpening up our our movements, posture and timing.

Technology in maths
As a rotation in Maths we use the laptops for study ladder and the iPads which have maths apps on them.
Both of these resources are fun, but also help us to improve and practice our number knowledge and number strategy.
Temperature Tellers
We are learning temperature. Today, we went in groups around the school to find the warmest and coldest temperatures. We used the heaters, freezer, ice pack, netball court, the monkey bars and many other places.
In Wearable Arts this week....
We drew out of three containers, three words. With those three words we were to create a costume that was wearable with our given materials.
Here is what we came up with!!!!
